The Exploratorium at the Palace of
Fine Arts in San Francisco was the perfect venue for
the wedding of a couple finishing their PhD studies
in science. The guests enjoyed figuring out the
exhibits with help from the bride's professors from
UC Davis. We used the talents of a Bay Area lighting
company to make the space more warm and inviting.
Chocolate and raspberry colors were used for drama
and chocolate "pops" made by friends as favors.
Lighted ice cubes were used in the champagne to give
the decor a "scientific" edge. As the groom was from
Germany, many of the county's cultural practice were
include in the event.

Bulgarian Wedding at UC Berkeley. The
bride used many customs from her native country such
as the bridesmaids carrying symbolic copper pots
with flowers (provided by Pat Gibbons Floral) which
were then also used as place settings. The mothers
took part in a water and bread ritual symbolizing
the union of the couple and the cleansing of the way
for them to start married life. The recession to the
Faculty Club, a stunning Julia Morgan Masterpiece,
was led by a bagpiper in full regalia. Guests shared
in the ceremonial bread as they toasted the couple.
